The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has declared that the council has achieved greatly from migration of paper based enrollment to electronic enrolment of candidates in Nigeria.
This was disclosed by the Chairman, Nigeria National Committee of the West African Examination Council, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir during the 57th Annual Meeting of the Nigeria National Committee of the West African Examinations Council in Abuja.
The Chairman said that WAEC has achieved the online registration of candidates for both the West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates and private candidates.
“The development has enabled the council in Nigeria to achieve 100percent migration from Paper based to electronic enrollment of candidates for its examinations.
“The deployment of quick response code(QR-Code) on its certificates, thereby making it impossible to falsify certificates issued by the council.
“The marking and adaptation of computer Based Test for Aptitude tests , the adoption of advanced printing technology and deployment of new technological solution called ITEM Differential Profile, are some of the innovations adopted by the council to tackle the menace of examination Malpractices,” Abdulkadir said.
