Premier League stars dominate positional award nominees lists for 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League season


UEFA has shortlisted nominees for 2018/2019 UEFA Champions league positional award.
Liverpool have the highest numbers of stars in the lists because of their outstanding and successful 2018/2019 UEFA champions league final in Madrid.
The shortlisted nominees are:
Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (Barcelona)
Defenders: Trent-Alexandre- Arnord (Liverpool), Mathijs de Ligt (Juventus), Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool),
Midfielders: frenkie de Jong (Barcelona), Christian Eriksen (Tottenham), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool),
Forwards: Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Christiano Ronaldo (Juventus)
Glogist understands that premier league stars dominate the positional award nominees’ lists. This was possible as a result of English clubs performance last season.

Liverpool however, defeated Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid.
in spite of champions league glory, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was not named in this year UEFA award prize.
It is a surprise that No Manchester city star in the shortlisted nominees.
Some big clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester united and man city are not also among the shortlisted nominees.
Real Madrid dominated the award lists last year.
The award winners will be announced on Thursday, 29 august, 2019 in Monaco France.
The individual awards – UEFA Men’s player of the year and women’s player of the year will be disclosed same day too.
