US Department of state Secretary, Mike Pompeo has stated that the world is now safe after US killed Iranian General, Qassem Soleimani.
Pompeo made this disclosure to CNN on Sunday.
The statement reads “It is very clear the world is a safer place now. Qassem Soleimani no longer walks the planet. President made the right decision to stop Soleimani from the terror campaign that he’d been engaged in against America and prevent the future plans that he had.
“Concerning Iran, this is a regime that has been acting against America for an awfully long time. We’re trying to contain them. We’re trying to correct for what was the Obama administration’s appeasement of Iran. We have to continue to do that, or Americans will be less safe.
“Remember what happened during this terrible nuclear deal: hundreds of thousands killed in Syria; Shia militias taking control in places like Iraq. We’re working diligently to execute our strategy to convince the Iranian regime to act like a normal nation.
“US have told the Iranian regime enough. You can’t get away with using proxy forces and think your homeland will be safe and secure. We’re going to respond against the actual decision makers, the people who are causing this threat from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“We need to look no further than Soleimani’s actions at the end of December, where he killed an American, to know that he posed a risk. He was continuing to build out attacks that would have threatened American lives.
“on our diplomatic, economic & military strategy in Iran: We made clear to the kleptocrats running Iran today that we would not respond just against these proxy forces that they run in Yemen, Syria, Iraq & Lebanon. We made clear this cost would be brought home to them.
“President Donald Trump has been resolute. We will defend America. Iranian proxy forces in Iraq thought they could act with impunity. We’ve made clear to the Iranian regime that wouldn’t be the case. The American people should know we will always defend them.
“We have developed a strategy to attempt to convince the Iranian regime to behave like a normal nation. We expect to achieve that goal, Pompeo said.
It was recalled that President Trump ordered an airstrike on Thursday evening that killed the Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad.
The Iranian General was the leader of the Quds Force, a covert section of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Soleimani was accused of plotting imminent and sinister attacks against Americans in the region.
