Supreme Court nullifies Ihedioha as governor, declares Hope Uzodimma as winner of 2019 Imo State governorship poll

The Supreme Court has announced that Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC), winner of Imo state 2019 governorship election, NAN reports.

The court therefore, nullified the election of Emeka Ihedioha of People Democratic Party (PDP).

The seven panel led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, ruled that Ihedioha did not win the majority of votes cast at the March 9 governorship election in Imo state.

The court therefore, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Ihedioha and issued a fresh Certificate of Return to the APC candidate, Hope Uzodinma, who was said that he won the majority of lawful votes cast at the election.
