Stering to miss England’s European qualifiers due to quarrel with Liverpool’s Gomez

England Coach, Gareth Southgate has said that Raheem Stering will be dropped from playing European qualifiers game against Montenegro following his clash with Joe Gomez on Sunday game between Man City and Liverpool at anfield.

Southgate said the decision has been taken to not consider Raheem for the match against Montenegro on Thursday, Skyports reports.

“One of the great challenges and strengths for us is that we’ve been able to separate club rivalries from the national team. Unfortunately, the emotions of yesterday’s game were still raw.
“My feeling is that the right thing for the team is the action we have taken. Now that the decision has been made with the agreement of the entire squad, it’s important that we support the players and focus on Thursday night.”

It is understood that Raheem Sterling and Joe Gomez had misunderstanding at Anfield.

According to the Sky Sports News, Sterling squared up with Gomez when he stepped into the players’ canteen to see some footballers. Sterling told Gomez “You think you are the big man now”.
Some players there started laughing as he made the statement but Sterling further walked up to Gomez and tried to grab him round the neck. But Gomez in turn reacted angrily.
After the incidence, the two stars met at Godinson park and iron out the quarrels.

This shows that Raheem Sterling will not play in England’s European Qualifier against Montenegro after a row involving Liverpool’s Joe Gomez at St George’s Park.
