Meet famous 16 year-old Swedish Environmental Activists, Greta Thunberg who was invited to speak at UN

Greta Thunberg is being tipped to win Nobel Peace Prize this year.

Greta Thunberg became popular when she  pioneered school “strike for climate” at age of 15 following her protest for action on global warming outside the Swedish parliament in August 2018.

She was born on January 3, 2003 in Stockholm, Sweden. Her mother is an opera singer while her father is an actor.

Her activism for climate change started when she was 8 years old. And she was heard saying “I could not understand why nothing was done concerning the climate change”.

Some right-wings has criticized her. They accused her for being a liar.

Other peoples have described her for being controlled by Asperger’s diagnosis she underwent as well as advice from her parents. On the other hand, Greta responded by denying that she is not working for anyone or even paid for this activism movement.

For the past one year, she has become one of the world’s influenced teenager and famous personality. Since then, she has been invited to speak at the UN.

Recently, USA President, Donald Trump mocked Greta Thunberg when he shared a video where Thunberg was angrily addressing world leaders at UN on September 2019.

“You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.

“And yet I am one of the lucky ones. People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction. And all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth. How dare you.”

But, “Thunberg reacted by saying she could not understand why grown-ups (matured) people would like to mock children and teenagers for just using science to communicate rather than doing something good instead”.

Earlier this year, three Norwegian MP’s nominated Greta for Nobel Peace Prize Award slated to hold on October 11.

Norwegian Socialist, MP Freddy Andre Ovstegard said “Greta Thunberg has launched a mass movement which I see as a major contribution to peace”.

Since being thrust into the global limelight, Greta’s climate activism has attracted scorn as well as praise.

Some right-wing critics have, with little evidence, denounced her as a liar or a hypocrite.

It would be a great achievement for Greta if she wins the Nobel Peace Prize, and this would make her as the youngest recipient of the prestigious award.

Other nominees for the award include, the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Native Brazilian environmental leader, Raoni Metuktire and New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern.
