The Senegalese and Liverpool’s striker, Sadio Mane has been crowned Confederation of African (CAF) Player of the Year for 2019.
Mane defeated his football club mate, Mohammed Salah and man city forward, Riyad Mahrez to secured the prestigious African football award on Tuesday.
Mane’s performance was clear as he won UEFA Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup with Liverpool as well as silver medal with his country, Senegal in the last African Cup of Nations.
The Senegalese Skipper also won Premier League‘s joint-highest goalscorer alongside Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with 22 goals each.
Meanwhile, CAF denied Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen, the best young player award. The award was given to Morrocan and Dortmund right back, Achraf Hakimi.
On the female category, Super falcon and Barcelona forward, Asisat Oshoala won women player of the Year for the 4th times.
