IPOB leader criticizes South-East Governors’ forum letter to President Buhari

Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has criticized South-East Governors’ forum letter sent to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mazi Kanu made the comments today at his official social media handle.

The IPOB leader condemned the letter south east governors sent to President Buhari on Tuesday.

“It is a shame that the Umahi-led SE Govs have turned to begging for the approval of Jubril (aka Buhari) on a simple matter of controlling “movement of cattle by foot” in SE.

“Cattle is livestock. The Zoo Constitution allows the State /LGAs (not the president) to regulate it; Sad!” Kanu asserted.

According to the letter signed by Southeast governors’ forum chairman, Ebonyi State Governor, Chief. Engr Dave Umahi, on issues relating to closure of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, and threats of Fulani herdsmen that led to killings of innocent people in the south east  region.

The forum requested that the closure of the airport be deferred to the end of October 2019 to enable adequate security measures and to ensure safety.

In their letter, they also pleaded for the president approval of the earlier resolution of the south east governors banning herdsmen without cattle and movement of cattle by foot in the region to aid in reducing crimes rate and crises emanating from foreign herdsmen
