Imo Tribunal Upholds Ihedioha Victory at Gov election

The Imo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has finally upheld the election of Emeka Ihedioha as the Governor of the State.

The Tribunal dismissed the petitions filed by three political parties, APC, APGA and Action Alliance (AA), against Emeka Ihedioha for victory at the gubernatorial election in the state.

The judgment delivered at Abuja High Court in Jabi, FCT, led by the Chairman, Justice Malami Umar Dogondaji ruled that the petition were lacking in merit and that the three political parties could not able defend their cases against the respondent.

The petition filed by Uche Nwosu (AA), Ifeanyi Araraume (APGA) & Hope Uzodinma (APC) against Ihedioha (PDP) to the Tribunal, stated that the state governorship election held in march 9 was not conducted in accordance to the provision of the 1999 constitution and the amended Electoral Act.
