Facebook deletes inauthentic Nigeria accounts from its Platform

Facebook has removed at least hundreds of in authentic and illegal accounts, pages and groups from its platforms.

The account removal affected a total of 443 Facebook and 125 Instagram accounts, including 200 pages and 76 groups originating in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Nigeria and Indonesia.

Facebook noted that one of the operations was captured for sharing local news in targeted countries and promoting content regarding to criticism of Qatar, Turkey and Iran.

Another smaller operation was involved in domestic-focused coordinated inauthentic behavior in Indonesia. While the third operation from Egypt, targeted Lebanon, Iran, Qatar, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Tunisia, and Turkey
