Ethiopian PM wins 2019 Nobel Peace Prize

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has won the prestigious award – Nobel Peace Prize for 2019.


Norwegian Nobel committee awarded Abiy Ahmed the Nobel Prize on Friday.


Ethiopian Prime Minister won the award due to his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, especially his idea and pro-active initiative to resolve the border conflict between his country and neighbouring Eritrea, The Nobel Prize reports.


The Nobel Committee also said that the prize was also meant to recognize all the stakeholders who collaborated to ensuring that peace and reconciliation is restored in Ethiopia and in the East and Northeast African regions.


The Committee also believes that Abiy Ahmed deserved the Prize because

he has done a wonderful work for restoring peace environment between his country and Eritrea.
