Anambra corps members serving in rural areas of the state will start receiving N10,000 monthly allowances.
Chief Willie Obiano, Governor of Anambra State made the assurance to corps members today at NYSC camp in Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area.
The Governor announced this statement during the passing-out of orientation course ceremony of 2019 batch B stream 2 corps members, Punch Nigeria reports.
“We are implementing an upward review of 10,000 monthly allowance in favour of to corps members in rural areas”, Obiano said.
Chief Willie Obiano (Akpokuedike) also said that ongoing work at NYSC permanent orientation camp site at Umuawulu/Mbaukwu would be completed very soon on October.
He said that the state will hand over the permanent camp to the management on October as part of the activities marking the Independence Anniversary.
The Anambra governor also assured corps members that he will not rest till every facility and infrastructures needed are put in place.
He equally said that the ultra modern permanent camp site will be the best of its kind when it is fully completed.
Chief Obiano urged corps members serving in the state to live up to the responsibility for caring of their fellow NYSC members during their service year.
In his remarks, Mr. kehinde Aremu, the Anambra State coordinator also lauded the efforts of corps members while in the camp despite poor facilities and infrastructures.
